Free Screencast 8.1.0 — software and third-party notices

Free Screencast is free to use. This independent modified distribution directly
modifies ShareX 21.0.0; it is not an official ShareX release. The original ShareX
copyright (c) 2007–2026 ShareX Team is retained. GNU GPL terms are reproduced below.

Requires Windows 11 22H2 (build 22621) or newer, x64. Its .NET desktop runtime is
included. Dark/light themes and editable brand.ini are provided. MP4, animated GIF,
screenshots, pause/resume, local recordings and ShareX advanced tools are included.
Window recording captures its current screen area: keep that window visible,
uncovered and unmoved. GIF has no sound. The simple audio selector uses one
available DirectShow device at a time; system sound needs an existing suitable
loopback/Stereo Mix/virtual capture device. No audio driver is installed by setup.

The modified application source, build instructions, exact FFmpeg 8.1.3/x264/zlib
source inputs, build scripts and toolchain lock are installed in the Source folder.
Original and dependency notices are in Licenses. The included source verification
records match these inputs to the shipped FFmpeg. You may copy, modify and
redistribute the application under the applicable free-software licenses.

RelevantKnowledge is separate optional research by TMRG/Comscore governed by its
official visible Agree / Decline interface and policies. Free Screencast works
without RK. The setup never installs RK silently; silent main installation skips
the invitation. Declining, skipping or a download failure does not prevent Free
Screencast installation. Uninstall accepted RK separately in Windows Settings >
Apps. See Research-information.html for policy and leaving information.
